Lexicor QEEG

The Lexicor AD/HD assessment is an EEG data collection process that will take approximately one and one half-hours. A cap, much like a bathing cap will be placed on the individual's head. The EEG cap contains 19 electrodes. In addition there are 2 ear reference electrodes, 2 ground electrodes, 2 eye electrodes and 2 additional electrodes for a total of 28 electrodes.

The electrodes collect information about the electrical activity of the individual's brain. This data enables comparison of patient brain waves with thousands of other brain wave files. An individual patient report is generated approximately 48 hours after the procedure takes place. This report, combined with your doctor's review, will enable a more accurate evaluation of the existence of AD/HD.

Eastex Sleep Solutions will provide you and/or your doctor with the report, which is a unique, objective AD/HD assessment tool. You must consult with a doctor to review the results of your DataLex report, as Eastex Sleep Solutions is not a diagnosis or treatment facility.

During the assessment procedure the following actions will take place:

• The patient's head is measured and marked for proper cap and electrode placement. A grease pencil is used to mark the scalp for proper cap placement.
  
• Isopropyl alcohol and NuPrep™ (a pumice-like gel) are applied to the scalp at marked sites to clean and prepare the skin for electrode placement.
• A cap is fitted and placed on the patient's head according to head measurements.
  
• Electrode gel is applied in each electrode site using a syringe fitted with a non-invasive blunt tip stub adapter.
  
• The patient will relax in a recliner while the data is collected by the Digital Cortical Scan (DCS) in two sets, one with the patients eyes open and another with the patients eyes closed.
  
• Upon completion of data collection, the cap and other electrodes are removed and excess gel is removed with a warm, damp washcloth, isopropyl alcohol or by washing the hair.
